Surrey Hills Alive!

Leith Hill Timeline Choir celebrated traditional music from the South-East of England in their annual performance, at Leith Hill Place in October 2017. The programme payed particular attention to the beautiful songs collected by Surrey’s Lucy Broadwood and Ralph Vaughan Williams, as well as the Victorian bell-ringing folk singer Henry Burstow, from Sussex. An afternoon workshop introduced several little-known local songs to an enthusiastic crowd. Much to our surprise, many of them knew these ‘little-known songs’ already, since they were members of the wonderful South Downs Folk Singers!
